Air bonding attaches the touch sensor to the LCD using double-sided tape along the perimeter, leaving an air gap in the center. Optical bonding (LOCA) fills this gap with Optically Clear Adhesive. This eliminates internal reflections, improves display contrast, prevents condensation under high humidity, and enhances overall structural durability.
